Taxation   by: Mondo Disgusto Mondo on his Soapbox

I'm sitting here on a rubber donut with Extra-strength Ora-gel dripping from my raw and bleeding ass after a particularly vigorous and extremely gritty session with the "Green Wienie". NO, I'm not talking about some weird sexual perversion, I'm talking about TAXATION WITHOUT LUBRICATION!!!

I would swear our founding fathers fought and won a war to free us from this shit! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind giving a reasonable amount of financial help to our government to cover the necessary expenditures. I am, however, outraged at being fucked out of my hard-earned pay and watching it get pissed away on stupid shit.

Here are just a few examples of what I'm talking about;

  • $25 million for the International Fund for Ireland.
  • $14 million for the Hollings Marine Laboratory in Charleston, S.C.
  • $8.4 million for the Magdalena Ridge Observatory in New Mexico.
  • $5.67 million for wood utilization research.
  • $2 million for kilns in south-central and southeastern Alaska.
  • $2 million for the Vulcan Monument in Birmingham, Ala.
  • $1.5 million contained in the Defense appropriations bill for a large millimeter wavelength telescope.
  • $1.1 million for MountainMade in Thomas, W.Va. to educate artists and craftspeople.
  • $1 million for the Southern New Mexico Fair and Rodeo in Dona Ana County for a multi-purpose events center.
  • $1 million for the Hollings Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina.
  • $850,000 for the University of Mississippi Foundation in Oxford for their education and preservation programs at Rowan Oak, the home of William Faulkner.
  • $750,000 for the University of Idaho to preserve the history of jazz and teach it to future generations.
  • $740,000 to complete the Lancaster, Calif. National Soccer Center.
  • $500,000 for the Washington D.C. Sports and Entertainment Commission with the U.S. Soccer Foundation for environmental and infrastructure costs at Kenilworth Field.
  • $450,000 for Pacific tropical ornamental fish research.
  • $450,000 to restore Cumberland Island chimneys in Georgia.
  • $450,000 for the Curry County Fairgrounds in New Mexico for infrastructure improvements.
  • $420,000 to give each student a laptop computer at Hawthorne Elementary and Junior High School in Nevada.
  • $400,000 for exchange programs that will build linkages between American and foreign musicians.
  • $273,000 to combat "Goth" culture in Blue Springs, Mo.
  • $249,000 to give each student a laptop computer at Schurz Elementary School in Nevada.
  • $150,000 for renovations and infrastructure improvements at the Merry Go Round Playhouse in Auburn, N.Y.

(With thanks to the Citizens Against Government Waste and the "Congressional Pig Book")

I don't mind money spent to keep our power, water, communication, and road infrastructures operating at peak efficiency. I'm all for keeping our military well armed, well fed, well trained and well paid so they can protect the rights of the hand-wringing, bed-wetting, snivelling liberals. People, we have military personnel who have to get supplemental income to augment the piss-poor pay they receive so they can make ends meet. There are almost as many casualties from equipment failure as there are from hostile engagements, because their materiel is decrepit.

I'm sick of seeing our illustrious government pissing away our money to welfare nations who take their welfare check with one hand while burning our flag with the other. I'm disgusted when I hear about our elderly retirees (after working their whole lives) having to decide whether to starve in a warm house or freeze with a full belly. Al Gore crowed about how he would put Soc.Sec. in an "iron-bound lock box". It always has been, the trouble is that there are 540 keys to the box. This means that Soc.Sec. is just another tax to put more money into the pork-barrel.

My Lord tells me to "...Render therefore unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and unto GOD what is GOD's." GOD only asks for 10%, quite reasonable. Caesar demands over 50%!!!

40% of the U.S. population CAN'T support 60% of the world.

NO SHIT! And it might further chap yer ass to know that not one penny of collected taxes remains in our country. It goes to a entity known as the "World Bank" to whom we owe beaucuos of money every thing our government spends is on loan from the bank. our currency is no longer based on precious metals resources. The Fed, Fort Knox?
A farcical fuckin joke to the rest of the world.

Somehow, seeing that most of D.C. is populated by liers and theives, your collection of stats doesn't surprize me. I own land. I paid for it with my sweat and blood. I drove most of the nails, bought the wood, etc. Every year the local apprasial board wants more from me in taxes. If I add 1 sq. foot of anything, they come and jack up my taxes. Now, what do you think would happen if I told them that they were getting enough and I'm not giving them their raise?? Soon after that a guy with a gun would show up at my door and tell me pay up or be forclosed on. Like you, I don't mind paying my fair share, but it getting to the point where the taxes are greater than the income. Do these jerks think that every time they vote themselves a raise, I get one too??!! Sooner or later somethings gotta give, and I doubt it's gona be pretty....ed

I hear ya Ed. When this country was owned by England, Property owners held the land at the sufferance of the King. When we got free of GeorgeIII, the land became "allodial" meaning that only GOD had more right to the land than the owner. Allodial title meant that private property was "subject to no tenure nor to any services or taxes there to"and was passed to one's "heirs, agents or assignees in perpetuity". It also meant that all the resources on or under that land belonged to the deed-holders. In the early 1900's the government sent their agents around to every county seat in the nation, to gather up all the land titles (telling the county clerks the titles would be returned soon). The government then issued "color of title" to the land owners. Then the government did their best to expunge the term "allodial" from our language. This opened the way for taxation of property and made it possible for the big mining, logging and oil companies to exploit the resources on or under private property with out interference from the real owners. Now we don't own our homes, but hold them at the sufferance of the government. Just wait till they suspend "Habeas Corpus" and "due process of law".

First off let me say, "thanks for the great site. I just found it and have really like what I found."

I'm responding to this thread because some of my coworkers and I were talking about this very thing the last few weeks. Here are some observations.
We work to earn money to live on. Of that earned money we give up an income tax. Also, of that earned money we pay for medicare, and soc. sec... Now, soc.sec. turns out to be just another form of tax because the money is not truelly being held or invested for my future. In fact the government can use it in any way they see fit since it is not earmarked for a specific need. (my retirement is not a true concern or need for the gov..) The money that's left is mine right, WRONG!! I take my money and buy a bike. I pay taxes on that bike. I have to pay to have the bike registered and inspected annually. I buy oil and gas to keep the bike running and these are taxed. I by clothes and these are taxed. In some states food items are taxed. I save up some cash and deside to buy a house. The initial purchase is taxed. I improve my living conditions and my taxes go up. Other people build around me and increase property values and taxes go up. I sell the house to move away from the new assholes and make a little cash on the deal. I'm taxed because I fucked up and made a little money. I buy the new place and pay taxes. The whole deal starts over. I get a phone in the house and the fee I pay to the phone company is taxed. I buy a water heater for the house, yep, it's taxed.

Let's through another twist in. Insurance companies. Remember the bike and the house. Insurance on them will cost you a small fortune. Also, the insurance company can raise the rates as they see fit. Oh yea, it's taxed too. I'm ready to see a change in my favor

Well, Linedawg, I am glad you like what you're seeing here ( although it's more amusing for me when somebody tries to hand me a ration of shit over my observations). You seem to have a real grasp on where you money goes, now, I would like to suggest that you and your coworkers read "MORE MONEY" by Andy on the Guest Rants page so you'll have a better understanding of how little the piss-ant amount of money you have left after taxes is really worth.

I live in NM and didn't know I was paying for an Observatory in Magdalena. I guess I should ride on out there and see what I'm paying for. I've been to Magdalena and don't remember seeing anything. I'll look harder. For 8.7 million it shouldn't be hard to find.

A friend of mine has a book he found at media play(not sure who wrote it) about the dumb shit the gov. spends tax money on, it was like $400,000 to find out the average speed of ketchup(25mph) average number of seeds on a big mac bun(175)cost us like $250,000. A householed taste between heilmans & miracle whip went for around $500,000, a nation wide pole to see who snores, a college pole on fast food, a pole on lonely people, this shit was around $100,000. Check Media Play for info, its kinda sad. R.W.T.W.
